a) There are 2 marks per idea referred to, to a maximum of 12 marks. You should try to refer to a
wide range of blocks. I have found a number of suitable ideas in the following blocks:Block 3 - 5 ideas
Block 1 - 4 ideas
Block 2 - 3 ideas
Block 5 - 6 ideas
Item b) -
b) Marks here are awarded for
new ideas from course materials not raised by article; good shape and argument; ideas expressed with clarity; whether the discussion will produce a radical design and for the clarity of text and drawing generally
Part 2 - Guided Design Exercise
15 marks for isometric drawing, use of DfM principles and comment on use of materials - make sure you clearly identify the DfM rules that you are applying
15 marks for drawing and suggestions for improvements to the product having analysed using DfM principles - make sure they are reasonably significant improvements
5 marks for clarity of text and drawings generally
